Terms of Use
Last updated: 4 November 2026
This is a translation for your convenience. The German version at sortiert.io/agb is legally binding.
1. Scope and provider
These Terms of Use apply to the use of Sorted (German: Sortiert), the web app at sortiert.io/app, and the associated websites sortiert.io and sortedd.io (English version under the name “Sorted”). The provider is SocialBrands GmbH, Florastrasse 12a, 9200 Gossau, St. Gallen, Switzerland, represented by Alessandro Minneci, CEO, UID CHE-354.509.878 (hereinafter “we”). Contact details are in the imprint.
These terms apply equally to consumers and businesses, unless stated otherwise below. Deviating terms of users do not apply, even if we do not expressly object to them.
2. Purchase via Paddle
The paid subscriptions to Sorted are not sold to you by us, but by Paddle.com Market Ltd., 30 Old Bailey, London EC4M 7AU, United Kingdom (“Paddle”). Paddle is the reseller and merchant of record: the purchase contract for the subscription is concluded between you and Paddle. Paddle handles ordering and payment, issues the invoice, pays the taxes and is responsible for refunds and the withdrawal from your purchase. The Paddle buyer terms apply to this.
These Terms of Use govern the use of the software itself, that is, the relationship between you and us. We do not see payment details. How to withdraw from a purchase is explained in the cancellation policy.
3. Services
Sorted connects to your Google account and works in your Google Drive. You select folders, and subfolders are included. Gemini, an AI model by Google, recognises what can be seen in each photo and video (for videos, via the preview image that Google Drive creates), writes a short description and keywords and suggests a category with a confidence in percent. Gemini also suggests categories itself, and you can create your own.
When sorting, Sorted creates the “Sortiert” folder in your Google Drive, containing one subfolder per category with shortcuts to your originals. The originals are not moved, copied or changed. A file can be in several categories, you can re-sort with one click, and the next run only sorts what is new. You can search by description and keywords.
Sorted Pro additionally includes: search and folders by location from the GPS data of photos and videos, shoot days (grouping by capture date), top footage (Gemini rates suitability for social media from 1 to 5), finding duplicate files via a checksum, sharing folders including originals with your team (read access) and the shot list as a CSV file.
Gemini’s suggestions are generated automatically and may be wrong. We do not owe any particular accuracy; check categories and descriptions before you rely on them. Sorted only works with Google Drive, not with Dropbox, iCloud or local hard drives. Very recently uploaded videos do not have a preview image yet and are only sorted in the next run. Sorted shows up to 5,000 files per view.
We continue to develop Sorted and may change features, as long as the core of the service, sorting your photos and videos in Google Drive, is retained and the change is reasonable for you.
4. User agreement
The user agreement with us is concluded when you connect your Google account to Sorted. Sorted is intended for persons of legal age as well as for companies, self-employed persons and agencies. Anyone who uses Sorted on behalf of a company warrants that they are authorised to do so.
5. Free trial
Without a subscription, you can sort 25 photos or videos per Google account for free, with all features of Sorted Pro and without payment details. The trial applies once per Google account, even if you disconnect Sorted and connect it again. It ends automatically when the 25 files have been sorted; this does not create a subscription. Everything sorted up to that point stays in your Drive. Gemini runs on your own key during the trial too and is billed by Google.
6. Subscriptions, prices and Gemini costs
There are two subscriptions, each monthly or yearly: Sorted for €10 a month or €96 a year and Sorted Pro for €20 a month or €192 a year, each including VAT. The price shown in the Paddle checkout before purchase is decisive. Paddle bills in advance for the selected period, that is, one month or one year. If you switch from Sorted to Sorted Pro, the period stays the same, and Paddle charges the remainder of the current period on a pro rata basis.
For recognition you need your own Gemini key from Google AI Studio. Google bills you directly for it, according to Google’s terms and prices; these costs are not included in the subscription. Before every run, Sorted shows an estimate of the costs. The estimate is non-binding; only Google bills you.
Price changes apply only to future billing periods. We announce them at least 30 days in advance in the app or to the email address of your Google account. If you do not agree, you can cancel until they take effect.
7. Term and cancellation
A monthly subscription runs for one month, a yearly subscription for one year. Both renew for the same period unless you cancel them. You can cancel at any time, without giving reasons, effective at the end of the current billing period: in the app under “Manage subscription”, which opens Paddle’s customer portal, or directly with Paddle via paddle.net or the link in your purchase confirmation. Once the subscription has ended, you can no longer sort. The folders and shortcuts that Sorted created remain in your Drive.
You can terminate the user agreement at any time by disconnecting Sorted in the app or by removing access in your Google account. You must additionally cancel a running subscription as described above. The right of both parties to terminate for good cause remains unaffected; good cause for us is in particular a serious or repeated breach of section 8.
8. Your obligations
- You use your own Google account and protect access to it. You are responsible for actions taken through your account.
- You use your own Gemini key, keep it secret and comply with Google’s terms for Gemini and Google AI Studio. You bear the costs for your key.
- You only sort content for which you hold the necessary rights or have the permission of the rights holders, for example when a client shares a folder with you. If photos or videos show other people, you are responsible for ensuring that the processing is lawful.
- You do not process unlawful content with Sorted and do not use Sorted for unlawful purposes.
- You do not attack Sorted, do not circumvent technical limits, such as the trial limit by using several accounts, and do not burden the service with automated mass requests.
- Sorted is not a substitute for a backup. Back up important files yourself.
9. Availability
We strive for uninterrupted operation but do not promise any particular availability. Maintenance, further development and disruptions may temporarily limit use. Sorted depends on third party services, above all Google Drive, Gemini, Paddle and Vercel; their outages or changes are beyond our control.
10. Your data stays in your Drive
Your photos and videos stay in your Google Drive. Whatever Sorted needs to remember, that is, categories, suggestions for your files and your encrypted Gemini key, is kept in a hidden app folder in your own Drive. We do not keep a database of your content. For the analysis, Sorted sends preview images to Gemini using your key. We acquire no rights to your content, except those we need to provide the service to you. Details are in the privacy policy.
11. Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused by intent and gross negligence, for damage resulting from injury to life, body or health, within the scope of a guarantee we have given and where liability is mandatory by law, for example under product liability law.
In the case of slight negligence, we are only liable if we breach an essential contractual obligation, that is, an obligation whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose compliance you may regularly rely. In this case, liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded.
For the loss of data, within the limits of the preceding paragraphs, we are only liable for the effort that would have been necessary to restore it if data had been backed up regularly. These rules also apply to our employees, representatives and vicarious agents.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms for the future if there is an objective reason for doing so, such as a change in the law, new features or changed terms of Google or Paddle. We will inform you at least 30 days before they take effect in the app or to the email address of your Google account. Changes that affect the service or price of your running subscription to your disadvantage only apply with your consent. If you do not consent, you can cancel the subscription until the changes take effect, and we can cancel it at the end of the current billing period.
13. Governing law and place of jurisdiction
Swiss law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). If you are a consumer with your habitual residence in the European Union or the European Economic Area, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
The place of jurisdiction for disputes with businesses is the registered office of SocialBrands GmbH in Gossau, Canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland. For consumers, the statutory places of jurisdiction apply; in particular, consumers can also sue at their place of residence and can only be sued there.
We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
14. Final provisions
If any provision of these terms is invalid, the remaining provisions remain valid. The German version of these terms is authoritative, even if you found Sorted via the English website sortedd.io.
